The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services
(CMS) requires quarterly testing of patients for the installation, and continuing use, of
oxygen in the home.
Without the testing from a third Party Medicare-approved
Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility
(IDTF), you can’t bill Medicare for oxygen
services.
Our solution.
Sleep Solutions (SSI) offers an easy solution
for qualifying oxygen patients by delivering a
simple but clinically-accurate overnight pulse
oximetry device to the patient's home and
instructing the patient on its use. Next morning, we'll arrange
to have the device returned directly to SSI's Medicare-approved
Independent Diagnostic Testing Facility (IDTF).
On the other hand, you can use your existing inventory
of pulse oximeters. Deliver your device to your patient,
notify Sleep Solutions for patient orientation and support,
(available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week), then pick-up
your device from the patient the next
morning. Then, upload the patient test data to the Sleep
Solutions server for analysis and report generation.
The healthcare provider is able to access the results from the
SSI's HIPAA-compliant website, or Sleep
Solutions will immediately print out the test
results for sending to the physician. These
reports may then be used to meet the
Medicare testing requirements to ensure that
only qualified patients are receiving home
oxygen therapy.
Once the treating physician reviews the SSI
PulseOx® Report and completes the Certificate of Medical Necessity
(CMN), the DME provider can provide the
necessary oxygen and bill Medicare. As the
Medicare-approved IDTF, Sleep Solutions will
bill Medicare directly for the pulse oximetry testing, with the
patient responsible only for the standard
Medicare co-payment.

Have us deliver one of our in-stock pulse oximeters directly to your patient and we'll perform the test protocol. SSI will provide the data analysis and report generation. This is an excellent approach if you want to expand your patient base or the geographic coverage of your business.
SSI to DME/HME
You want to provide personal service to your patients? No problem. We can deliver a pulse oximeter, test protocol and patient instructions directly to your office.
DME/HME Existing Inventory
You may decide to use your existing inventory of pulse oximeters - we'll accept the data files from over 40 different models. Deliver your system to the patient with our instruction package, pick it up the next day and upload the test file to SSI.

No Choice: It's No Cost.
There is only one part of the Sleep Solutions program
where you don't have a choice. Because we are using our existing infrastructure, and fully-developed business processes for other testing programs, Sleep Solutions
does not charge the DME/HME for our services. There is no
registration fee, subscription payment or per-test charge for our
pulse oximetry services.
